The Takeaway: By tailoring our multi-platform bidding strategy to the unique 'value of a view' across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, we successfully maximized both rapid mass awareness and deep narrative engagement.

 

The Objective

The festive season of Hari Raya is the most highly saturated and competitive advertising period in Malaysia. To cut through the noise, BHPetrol launched a compelling 3-part video series (featuring two teasers and one main brand film) for Raya 2026. They required a digital advertising partner capable of aggressively distributing this content across all major social networks within a tight one-month window. The primary objective was to maximize nationwide reach, drive mass video consumption, and strictly optimize Cost-Per-View (CPV) efficiencies across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

 

Our Strategy

We orchestrated a massive omnichannel video distribution architecture. Knowing that user behavior and attention spans vary drastically between platforms, we didn’t just blanket the internet with the same bidding strategy. We strategically assessed the “Value of a View” for each specific network:

For rapid top-of-funnel virality, we utilized Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Because Meta qualifies a view at 3 seconds and TikTok at 2 seconds, these platforms were heavily weighted to push the “Teaser” videos, capturing immediate attention and driving massive impression volumes at fractions of a cent.

Conversely, we positioned YouTube as our deep-engagement engine. Because YouTube qualifies a view at 30 seconds (or complete watch-time), we directed our YouTube strategy to promote the Full Video. This ensured that users were fully immersed in the brand’s festive storytelling, maximizing the emotional impact of the campaign.

 

Key Campaign Highlights

  • Massive Nationwide Virality: Successfully dominated the festive digital landscape within a single month, generating a staggering 8.54 million total video views and over 23.6 million ad impressions across the four platforms.
  • Decoding the Value of a View (YouTube): While YouTube commanded the highest Cost-Per-View (RM0.029), it delivered the highest-quality narrative engagement—securing over 578,000 deep-engagement views (guaranteeing 30+ seconds of watch time per user).
  • Ultra-Efficient Mass Reach (Meta & TikTok): Leveraged the fast-paced algorithms of Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to drive over 7.9 million rapid-consumption views, achieving an astonishingly low blended CPV of just RM0.007.
  • Flawless Omnichannel Execution: Successfully managed creative sequencing across 3 distinct video assets (Teasers & Full Film) and 4 different ad networks simultaneously, ensuring BHPetrol maintained an inescapable digital presence during the peak Raya traveling season.
